Practice at coal mine operated by Pickands, Mather and Co., at Mather, Pa., first mine in Pennsylvania to receive full credit for rock dusting under new stringent ruling of Pennsylvania Compensating Rating Bureau; wetting coal dust at working places; sprinkling of haulage roads; rock dusting by hand application and by machine dusting; monthly collection of dust samples; rock dust barriers; analysis of dust samples indicate that explosion cannot propagate through Mather mines.
