Strength of concrete in finished structures
Tests were made to examine dispersion in strength of concrete in columns poured in vertical position as well as in some columns poured in horizontal position, like beams; strength of concrete in columns was compared with that of test cubes and test cylinders cast at same time as columns; it was shown how deviations in strength of concrete, as compared with those in characteristics of reinforcement, in dimensions of cross section, and in eccentricity, influence safety against failure of structures.
