Concrete walls balanced by floors
Model tests carried out to investigate strength of concrete walls supported by one vertical reaction and balanced by surrounding floors are described; models consisted of I and T sections and were made of concrete on scale of about 1 to 2.5; it is shown that if tensile reinforcement of floors is not properly anchored above support of wall, then floor can fail at load which is lower than ultimate load of wall.
