Ceramics as structural materials
Structural properties of ceramic materials are studied from point of view of their use as structural materials in aerospace structures; effects of size, shape, and method of fabrication of structural elements; it is found that use of technique of prestressing will extend considerably structural applications of ceramics; review of author's research with prestressed ceramics is given. (see also ASCE -- Proc (J Structural Div) v 91 n ST4 Aug 1965 pt 1 paper 4429 p 47-55)
