A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Problems of cement cracking arising from important temperature increase in massive structure resulting from heat of hydration, are discussed; methods for heat measuring (heat-of-solution method and adiabatic method) and their applicability to particular cases are examined; factors influencing magnitude of hydration heat and rate of temperature rise as well as precautions to be taken when building massive cement structures, are investigated.
