Konstruktive und bauphysikalische Erkenntnisse bei Aluminiumfassaden
Different aspects of design and construction of aluminum building facades are discussed on basis of research and experience; problems concerning stability, wall connections, and tightness against wind and rain of simple windows of various types are reviewed, and importance of window as structural element is pointed out with special reference to movements and stresses which result from thermal expansion; results of tests for water tightness and model tests in wind tunnel are reported; effects of need for cleaning and sun screening on design of facade are also discussed.
