Determination of natural periods of buildings
Random wind excitation has been used to find first three modes of vibration of nineteen-story building about two major translational axes and torsional axis of building; vibration records were obtained and harmonic analysis was performed with aid of analogue computer to determine first few vibration modes; concurrently with experimental program building modes were computed two ways using different simplifying assumptions regarding lateral stiffness of structure.
