Corporation building department constructs industrialised flats system
System developed at Derby, England, is based on cross-wall method of construction and whole block is in reinforced concrete except for some traditional building at lower level; all internal structural and division panels were cast using vertical battery system; this was based on method of Building Research Station; all panels are of one story height, 7 ft 9 in., varying in length from about 8 ft up to 18 ft 8 in. by 7 in. thick and weighing some 5 to 6 tons; larger panels were cast on site.
