Lateral elastic stability of suspension bridges
Plan to build long-span suspension bridges necessitates investigations of all aspects of aerodynamic stability; based on Hirai's concepts lateral buckling of stiffening frame is further investigated and results indicate that dead load increase improves elastic stability and diagonal center stays prevent asymmetric lateral buckling in main span.
