Welding for all-steel modular highway bridge
Prototype featuring unitized construction, prefabricated and prepainted all-welded steel sections for two 56 ft spans were placed by 50-ton truck crane over Humphreys Creek at Sparrows Point, Md; fixed ends rest on rubberized fabric pads, while bearing pads at other end are slick faced with 1/16 in. layer of Teflon.
