Mattogawa railroad bridge (52 m long reinforced concrete rigid frame type Arch bridge)
Project described is 52 m long reinforced concrete rigid frame type arch bridge over Matto River in Ohkoku Line of Japanese National Railways; bridge is located on track with curvature radius of 300 m and lower part is planned to be submerged during 130 days in year by river level raising; side girders are obliquely placed in accordance with track curvature; sections at crown and springing are designed thinner than that of other part so as to reduce stress due to changes in temperature and moisture content of concrete; foundation materials consist of tuffaceous shales. In Japanese with English summary.
