For fast, easy installation -- SAL uses prefab composite spans
Use of prefabricated structure comprised of concrete deck and steel beams when it is necessary to install spans 38 to 45 ft long to overcome necessity to build runaround tracks to permit casting and curing of concrete slabs; spans used are shop fabricated in two half-sections for quick field installation during which half-sections are connected by diaphragms fastened with high-strength bolts; half-sections are relatively light in weight and erected by single crane using spreader-bar slings.
