Building New Tay road bridge
Bridge at Dundee in Scotland will be 8430 ft long from abutment to abutment as compared with 8244 ft of Forth Bridge, with approach spans included; length over water is 7365 ft; it is composed of number of relatively short spans across shallow estuary, with 42 main spans mostly of 180 ft; finished road will be on continuous gradient of 1 in 81 rising to maximum height of 125 ft at south end; erection work, which utilizes temporary low level bridge, is described.
