A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Main features of three-span bridge over Leicester Creek at Lismore, New South Wales are described; superstructure of bridge is designed as composite construction, in which reinforced concrete deck slab is prestressed by preloading steel girders; high tensile bolts are used for all field joints; transfer of forces from steel girders to deck slab and method used for stiffening girder webs are described; girders were erected by cantilevering separate sections over piers.
