Superstructure of tay road bridge
Design, fabrication and erection of welded steel box girders and concrete deck slab which form composite superstructure of bridge are discussed; use of models for design stage and results of quarter-size model test to destruction are given; welding procedure is outlined and method of erection of girders is explained; tests carried out to check quality of materials and workmanship are enumerated; various features of superstructure are described and possible developments in composite design are included.
