Bridge deck is analyzed as orthotropic plate with inflexible supporting edges; supporting members are permitted to deflect, thus causing additional stresses in deck; determination of width of deck that should be included as top flange of supporting members; localized bending stress in deck plate between stiffeners is considered, especially at locations near concentrated loads.
