On optimum breakwater design
Procedure discussed was worked out for cases embodying optimum values for dimensions of two monolith and two rubble-mound structures; examples were taken from studies carried out on various designs for Europoort Harbor, Rotterdam, Netherlands; extensive investigation of occurrence of various off-shore conditions, relation between off-shore conditions and behavior of structure, relation between anticipated damage, off-shore conditions and design wave or design load and structure cost.
