Shear and bond in prestressed concrete beams without shear reinforcement
Study deals with effect of bond on strength of prestressed concrete beams reinforced with end-anchored reinforcement; experimental investigation comprised series of 30 beam tests with rectangular and T-section beams, simply supported and with span of 4 m; load was applied in form of concentrated load at center of span and was both static and dynamic; intended cube strength of concrete was 400 kp/sq cm in all cases; 10 tests were carried out on dowel beams with view to studying capacity of reinforcement to transmit shear force; theory is developed for calculation of carrying capacity of beams.
