Role of strain hardening in plastic design
Behavior variations between mathematical idealization of collapse mechanism theory and real structure are studied; paper illustrates importance of material possessing strain-hardening and plastic range; it is shown that collapse mechanism cannot form in beam that is composed of purely elasto-plastic material; real behavior of inelastic beams with strain-hardening capabilities is studied; as particular cases fixed-ended beam and Stussi beam are examined.
