Stability of beaches using groins
Field investigation was conducted on stability of beaches, using groins along Imazu and Sakano Coasts in Tokushima, Japan; based on survey of coastal configuration between groins and on estimation of amount of littoral sand drift in case of no structure, storage capacity of permeable and impermeable groins was determined; it is found that groins must be designed in types, length and intervals under condition that equal amount of littoral sand drift along coast may be secured.
