There are one or two ways in which improvement is possible without introducing structural difficulties; first and probably most obvious is by use of bulkhead lights on lower floors; area of two lower floors facing light well which is adequately lit could be increased by projecting rooms into light well and sloping windows; problem in daylight lighting solved satisfactorily by use of reflectors at National Portrait Gallery, London.
