Reinforced concrete tower of lighthouse, which will be off coast of Eire, is to be telescopic and built inside reinforced concrete caisson of such dimensions that when tower is contracted within caisson, whole structure is stable when afloat; model was tested at Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen, to prove stability of structure, and further tests are being carried out to acquire detailed information on distribution of forces due to severe wave action.
