Lining walls of 100-ton arc furnaces with magnesite brick incorporating spinel binder
After modifying furnace and converting its vertical walls to sloping ones, banks (at level of slag-metal interface) and upper part of walls were laid with experimental magnesite brick incorporating spinel binder; brick exhibited fairly high stability under aggressive action of slag in production of transformer steel, and prevented contamination of steel with chromium.
