Relation between cone index and specific resistance of soil cutting is investigated for soil testing method application; cone index is defined as pressing load of cone into soil divided by base area of cone; slip-line field about cone penetrated into cohesive soil is obtained, on assumption that soil should be perfect plastic medium without internal friction and body force; for determination of cutting resistance steel plate is set vertically into soil to certain depth, upper end of plate is drown, and plate digs up soil body in front of plate by turning around fixed support set on soil surface.
