A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Method was used in investigation in which movement of plain sand is recorded by taking time-exposure photographs; movement of particles of sand in both loose and dense states beneath rough and smooth based foundation models on and beneath surface of soil as related to bearing pressure was studied; effect of geometry and density on shape of rupture surfaces. (See also n 695 June 1964 p 728-31)
