Influence of roughness of base on bearing capacity and settlement of square footing on dense sand
Influence of roughness of base of square footing on dense sand was studied on scale model; results show that ultimate bearing capacity is linear function of roughness; settlement of footing at peak load is independent of roughness; flow of material at failure is more bilateral than radial.
