Dispersion measurement in open channels
It is shown that true longitudinal and transverse dispersion coefficients can be computed with time-concentration data collected in two-dimensional tracer plume, which originated from instantaneous point source; empirical formula was developed from flume data which is reported to be superior to deterministic formulas derived for dispersion coefficient prediction; same type of formula may be useful in prototype streams.
