Analytical examination of propped floors in multi-storey flat plate construction
Methods of K.E.C.Nielsen, P.Grundy and A.Kabaila presenting detailed analysis of interaction between formwork and slab floor under loads applied to system by placing fresh slabs and by removing props from beneath lowest slab in system are reviewed; in light of these analyses, it is intended to show influence that factors under control of builder may have on loading of slabs during construction; features examined are flexibility of formwork, use of high early strength concrete, construction cycles, and distribution of formwork at lower levels.
