Calculation of shock wave from underground nuclear explosion in granite
Capability of calculating close-in effects of shock wave from underground nuclear explosion is demonstrated; agreement was obtained between calculation and measurements using spherically symmetric, hydrodynamic, elastic-plastic theoretical model for Hardhat event, 5-kiloton nuclear detonation in granite; this capability is dependent upon having more or less complete description of elastic and dynamic properties of materials involved.
