New York's bridges
Description of floodlighting of Triborough, Bronx-Whitestone, and Throgs Neck Bridges by Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority (TBA); same lighting design was applied to three bridges; clear mercury lamps were used for all decorative lighting; 100-w lamps were mounted at top of each vertical cable along each bridge span, creating rope of light that curves along each of suspension cables; one basic fixture type housing 1000-w clear mercury lamp was used to floodlight towers of all three bridges; techniques employed to floodlight Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, 262 one hundred-watt mercury lamps follow contours of supporting cables; details of floodlighting equipment for towers.
