Lessons from earthquake -- First-hand report from anchorage
Alaskan earthquake of Mar 27 1964 is qualified by relatively low loss of life resulting from fact that most of major buildings in earthquake area were designed to resist earthquakes; observations about structural connections and openings in multistory shear walls as they pertain to reinforced concrete structures are outlined.
