Performance of tile drainage systems in low desert area of high evapotranspiration is evaluated; factors for use in empirical design equations are developed on basis of quantity of tile installed and area drained; tile drainage systems are used as efficient method of maintaining good quality groundwater supply by removing excess saline waters from crop root zone.
