Precast T's and slabs make culverts quickly
Culvert design is described in which precast T's, similar to girders but with narrow flanges, are turned upside down to form "spread footing" and vertical sides of culvert; precast slab laid across them forms waterway; structure can be built complete, backfilled and put in use, in few hours; prestressing cables provide reinforcement; short lengths of steel sheet piling set in webs provide interlock between 25 ft lengths to permit unit construction for any length needed.
