Modulus of elasticity of concrete affected by elastic moduli of cement paste matrix and aggregate
General equation is derived which expresses modulus of elasticity of concrete or mortar in terms of empirical constant, elastic moduli of cement matrix and aggregate constituents, and mix proportions; equation produced good results over wide range of variables, with average deviation being 10%; variety of aggregate materials used included steel punchings, crushed glass, lead drops, Ottawa sand, crushed limestone, and calcareous-siliceous river gravel.
