Exposure test of painted, pressure-treated millwork
Investigation described was designed to test long-term service of pressure-treated millwork for exterior exposure in public buildings and small homes; test laboratory was designed as small home, 24-36 ft, with concrete-slab floor, trussed roof, and panel-system wall construction; more than 100 pieces of millwork were randomly assigned to position in laboratory building; some components were pressure-treated by empty-cell process with nonswelling, paintable solution of pentachlorophenol containing water-repellent materials.
