Ground-water management for nation's future -- Computer simulation of ground-water basins
Mathematical model of storage and transmissive characteristics of groundwater basin is developed and tested using general purpose analog and digital computer; model permits water level elevations within basin to be predicted, particularly in response to extraction and recharge activities; simplified model of aquifer system is developed that leads to diffusion equation in 2 dimensions; procedure for basin analysis is extended to handle certain nonlinear features.
