Design of compact ventilation system for 2 6000-ft tunnels at bottom of Chesapeake Bay, with air change every 1.7 min; ventilation of tunnels will be accomplished using 24 large fans located in 4 ventilation buildings; at high speed, each of fans can handle approximately 300,000 cfm; system is designed to provide 225 cfm/lineal ft of tunnel at maximum operation of fans.
