Chemical characteristics of mine waters in Ambrosia lake, New Mexico, uranium district
Water samples from 10 underground mines in Morrison Formation closely resemble groundwater normally found in sandstone, arkose, and graywacke, and are unlike acid waters from mines or other acid forming areas; all of samples seem to be supersaturated with respect to calcium carbonate; for waters elsewhere in Morrison Formation, field pH measurement indicates saturation or undersaturation; whereas laboratory pH measurement on same samples indicate supersaturation.
