Production of high chromium 13Kh14NVFRA steel in arc furnaces
This stainless steel, because of its high viscosity at teeming temperatures, was found to be considerably contaminated by nonmetallic inclusions, whatever type of melting practice was used; best results are obtained with final deoxidation by aluminum and with bottom pouring into slab molds (250×500 mm) weighing 0.75 tons. (See also Stal n 11 Nov 1963 p 1034-6)
