Electroslag remelting of heat resistant stainless steels
Reference is made to defects in EI961 and EP65 low-nickel steels after melting in open arc furnaces and casting in standard ingot molds; if these steels are remelted by electroslag process, using ANF-6 flux, on ideal current density of 0.18-0.25 amp/sq mm, good quality metal is produced; disks made of this metal have sound structures and contain no defects. (see also English translation in Stal in English n 9 Sept 1963 p 700-4)
