Glued lamella framework; description of covered stadium at National Center of Physical Education at Joinville (France); laminated wood skeleton is formed by 23 prefabricated arches of 89 m span and 19.4 m rise; length of arch is about 100 m; arch consists of 2 joined parallel beams of rectangular cross section, each 14 cm thick, with depth varying from 150 cm at abutment to 186 cm at haunch, 57 cm at crown; sections are laminated from slats 23 to 32 mm thick; prefabricated 27 m long sections are assembled in situ into half-arches which are lifted into position by cranes.
