Stabilization of sand dunes at vandenberg air force base
Combination of 4 measures was used for erosion control; measures used included providing protective shale blanket in selected areas; imparting cohesiveness to unstable, noncohesive soil; establishing vegetal cover, and creating foredune near shore line as controlled deposition zone for drifting sand; applicability of treatment to similar areas is suggested.
