New library consists of 2 blocks, 2- and 4-stories respectively, separated by expansion joint from foundation to roof; shell roof is made of continuous vaults arranged to intersect each other where direction of span is changed and cantilevered from outside columns around perimeter of building; engineering aspects, such as excavation, formwork, reinforcement and concrete, are described.
