Dynamic behavior of supercritically loaded struts
Analysis of motion of pin-ended strut subjected to uniform axial force greatly in excess of Euler critical load; effects of shear and rotary inertia; equation for dominant buckling mode is derived, indicating possibility of strut buckling in configurations other than fundamental mode; graphs are presented for determining maximum modal deflection produced by blast type triangular loading of strut.
