Turbulent diffusion and reaeration coefficient
Results of study of oxygen absorption phenomenon, mechanism causing transfer of oxygen into water, and development of practical method of estimating oxygen transfer rates in open channel flow; experimental determination of reaeration coefficient and longitudinal mixing coefficient demonstrated correlation between these parameters when depth of flow was taken as measure of eddy size; explanation of transfer by kinetic gas theory.
