Stability of plates under partial edge loadings
Solutions to plate stability problems involving rectangular plates under partial edge compression; 7 different load combinations are investigated for clamped and simply supported plates having height-to-width ratios of 1/3 to 3; results are presented in form of charts, with buckling coefficients plotted as function of plate shape for each loading case; cricital load is obtained by generating equations for varying load intensity and then finding intensity at which determinant of system is zero.
