Analysis of triangular bracket-type plates
Plates typifying brackets used in structural steel applications are analyzed as to their elastic stability characteristics; Rayleigh-Ritz energy method was used for solution, including use of feature that conditions of equilibrium need not be satisfied by original displacement expressions; large deflection theory using double power series expressions for displacements was used to determine loaded edge deformation at which elastic buckling was imminent.
