A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Nondimensional techniques, based on methods of dimensional analysis, form rational basis for investigating load-settlement characteristics of friction pile groups in cohesive soil; agreement between results of small scale laboratory studies and full scale field tests indicates that such basis greatly enhances transformation from model studies to prototype response by avoiding difficult task of modeling soil properties.
