Testing light gage steel hyperbolic paraboloid shell
Construction and testing of shell using standard light gage steel roof deck panels; panels are welded intermittently along their seams, and at external edges to light perimeter members; to form doubly curved shear carrying membrane; test indicates that shear values obtained from horizontal diaphragm testing can be used conservatively in design of curved shear surfaces and that rather light marginal members might be used, provided eccentricity in applying load to those members is avoided.
