Cuba's Hanabanilla hydroelectric project
First hydroelectric project of Cuba consists of two earth fill dams and reservoir of 76 billion gal capacity; construction of penstock shaft, 22,000 ft long tailrace tunnel, and 1115 ft long service tunnel described; blasting by bench method, using 90-350 lb Gelamite 2-X in rounds; in mucking work train, 8 ton diesel locomotives, and 15 ton diesel driven hoists were used.
